Laughing meditation – purposely laughing without the stimulus of humour -is strong medicine.
Let go of the belief system “I must be happy to be laughing.” Let the laughing flow throughout your body awakening the qi. Let the laughing clear out any somatic debris of stress, frustration, fear, anxiety and stories that don’t serve.
Laugh with abandon for 30 seconds. Laugh deeply and courageously. Stop abruptly at 30 seconds. Notice what you are aware of mentally. emotionally and physically.
Want to continue exploring laughing? Join us each morning for 30 minutes.
Take 30 seconds and laugh. Laugh strong. Laugh loud. Laugh for no other reason except to laugh.
After 30 seconds go into silence and notice what arises. (Do this now before you read on!)
Laughing meditation alters the dopamine and serotonin levels in our bodies resulting in a decrease in depression, stress and anxiety.
In other words: Aliveness vibrates. Attitudes shift. Joy seeps in. Beginners Mind reigns. Life becomes vibrant.
WARNING! Watch out for the Inner Critic! When we are not feeling up to snuff we will put off Laughing Meditation. This is only an excuse from IC telling us we need to suffer through whatever we are experiencing first.
Not so! Many meditation practitioners choose to do Laughing Meditation in the midst of suffering. For instance, joining together in Laughing Meditation when our Beloved is dying is one of the highest moments for all…especially the Beloved who is passing.
Today’s Mindfulness Practice: •For no reason: Giggle. Chortle. Laugh. Loudly! •Let the grief roll out. The sadness. The confusion. The fear. Let it all go… •Laugh! Build the energy field of your life. •Go for 30 seconds. •What arose in you during those 30 seconds? •Now imagine…if each of us on this magnificent planet laughed wholeheartedly for 30 seconds what might arise? •I’ve been doing it at the top of the hour today. Join me? Let’s create a WOW Day!
Remember, it’s not about something that is funny…it’s about the action of laughing, smiling, giggling, chortling. Again…what arises for you….?
